These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of TradeCraft (“Software”) provided by BAARS Advanced Analytics LLC (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By installing, accessing, or using the Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
By clicking “I Agree,” installing the Software, or accessing any feature, you represent that:
you are at least 18 years of age;
you have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts;
your use of the Software does not violate any applicable law or regulation.
TradeCraft is a professional trade journaling and analytics platform designed to help individual traders log, track, and analyze their trading activity. The Software includes:
Trade logging and performance analytics
AI-assisted trade grading via Anthropic Claude API — using your own API key, or through included grades provided on eligible subscription tiers
Pattern scanning (ticker universe varies by tier: 50 / 200 / 500 tickers on Basic / Advanced / Premium)
Tax estimation simulations
Long-term investment portfolio tracking with dividends, splits, and DRIP support
Dividend auto-fetch and split-adjusted cost basis calculations via yfinance
Tax bracket updater — fetch current federal and state tax brackets via AI to keep estimates current
Multi-account support with per-account exposure and buying power tracking
Position sizing calculator with risk-based share sizing per account
Intraday trade chart viewer (5-minute candles, ±60 minute window — real market data via Yahoo Finance when available; a clearly-labeled simulated rendering is shown only when live data is unavailable)
CSV trade import from broker export formats and custom spreadsheets — a universal importer auto-detects common broker formats (including Charles Schwab, Webull, and thinkorswim Account Statements) and provides a column-mapping screen for any other CSV; additional format handling added periodically)
Multi-account support with account-level analytics
First-run onboarding wizard with risk disclosure and agreement logging
The Software is an educational and analytical tool only and is intended for both active day traders and trading trainees/simulators.
TradeCraft is NOT financial advice, investment recommendations, or brokerage services. The Company is not a broker-dealer, investment advisor, or financial institution. The Software does not execute trades, hold funds, manage accounts, or provide personalized investment advice. All trading decisions and activities are solely your responsibility.
Access requires a valid license key tied to your subscription tier. Subscription tiers are as follows:
Basic ($19/month or $190/year) — 1 machine, core journaling and analytics, 50-ticker pattern scanner
Advanced ($29/month or $290/year) — 3 machines, 200-ticker pattern scanner, goals projection chart
Premium ($49/month or $490/year) — 5 machines, 500-ticker pattern scanner, goals projection chart, wash-sale detail table, and Included AI Grades (see below)
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your license key. Sharing, transferring, or reselling license keys is prohibited and will result in immediate termination. License validation is performed at launch via our secure license server. A limited offline grace period may apply when the license server is temporarily unreachable; this grace period is subject to change at any time without notice. Upon subscription expiration or cancellation, access to the Software will be suspended. Your locally stored trade data will remain on your device and is not deleted upon lapse. Included AI Grades: every plan includes a daily allotment of AI trade grades (currently 10 per day on each tier) processed using the Company’s Anthropic API credentials via our license server. The AI model used for included grades is designated per plan (currently: Basic — Haiku-class; Advanced — Sonnet-class; Premium — Opus-class, with per-grade model choice among supported models). The daily allotment resets at midnight UTC, does not roll over or accumulate, and unused grades have no cash value. Grades beyond the daily allotment may be run using your own API key. The Company may adjust the allotment size, eligible models, or availability of included grades, and may throttle or suspend included grades in cases of abuse or to protect service integrity; material reductions will be communicated in advance where reasonably practicable.
You retain full ownership of all trade data, journal entries, and personal information you enter. Such data is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. You grant the Company a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use anonymized and aggregated (non-personally-identifiable) data solely for improving the Software, generating aggregate benchmarks, and internal research. We will never sell or share individually identifiable trade data.
The Software integrates with third-party data sources including yfinance (an unofficial, open-source Python library) for market prices, dividend history, and stock split data. This data is fetched on-demand and is subject to the accuracy and availability of those third-party sources. The Company makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data retrieved from yfinance or any other third-party data source. Market data shown in charts is sourced from Yahoo Finance and may differ from your broker’s consolidated feed.
You agree not to:
reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software;
remove or alter proprietary notices;
use the Software to develop competing products;
circumvent license verification or security measures;
use the Software for any unlawful purpose.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Software; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your trading activities; (d) any misrepresentation you make in connection with the Software. The Company agrees to indemnify you from claims arising solely from the Company’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
The Software integrates with third-party services including Anthropic’s Claude API (AI grading), yfinance (market data, dividends, splits — an unofficial open-source library not affiliated with or endorsed by Yahoo), and our license validation server. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or actions.
You agree to comply with all applicable U.S. export control laws. The Software may not be exported to embargoed countries or restricted parties.
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance. Material changes may trigger re-acknowledgment within the Software.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Disputes shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation, then binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association rules in Michigan. You waive any right to participate in class action litigation.

Your trade data stays on your device. All trade journals, account information, API keys, and personal settings are stored locally in a SQLite database at Documents.db. The Company does not have access to your trade data.
License key registration (name, email)
Legal acknowledgment records (name, date, version signed)
Support communications
License validation metadata (IP address, device identifier — hashed, software version, machine count); included-grade usage metering (license key and daily grade count)
Anonymized error logs and feature usage telemetry
AI grading audit records stored locally in your trades.db — includes the prompt sent to Anthropic and the full response received, for your own review and record-keeping. This data never leaves your device.
We do NOT collect keystrokes, screen captures, brokerage credentials, dividend amounts, portfolio values, or your actual trade data.
License verification, software updates, customer support, and aggregate analytics. We do NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing.
AI grading uses your own Anthropic API key, or — for Included AI Grades on eligible tiers — the Company’s API key relayed through our license server. In both cases, data sent to Anthropic is governed by Anthropic’s privacy policy. When you use Included AI Grades, your grading request (trade details and related market data) passes through our server for authentication and metering; we meter grade counts per license key but do not retain the content of grading requests or responses. Market data (prices, dividends, splits) is fetched directly via yfinance and stored locally on your device only.
License records are retained for 7 years. Trade data is under your sole control. We use industry-standard security for license validation. Agreement signatures — from onboarding and from in-app disclaimers — are stored locally and a record (name, section, date, version) is transmitted to our server for record-keeping.

TradeCraft is an analytical and educational tool only. Nothing in the Software constitutes financial advice, investment recommendations, or a solicitation to buy or sell securities.
The Pattern Scanner identifies statistical anomalies and mathematical patterns only across its ticker universe. It does NOT prove, allege, or imply illegal market manipulation, illegal short selling, or any securities law violation. Results are informational only. Stocks identified may decline significantly in value. Pattern scanner availability depends on your subscription tier.
AI grades are generated by a general-purpose AI system (Anthropic Claude) using your own API key or, on eligible tiers, the Company’s API key (Included AI Grades). They are not produced by licensed financial professionals and may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations. AI grades use market data via yfinance when available (trades within 60 days) and your stored data otherwise. They should not be the sole basis for any trading decision.
The long-term portfolio tracker, including dividend records, split-adjusted cost basis, DRIP calculations, and unrealized gain/loss figures, is provided for informational and journaling purposes only. Data is sourced via yfinance, an unofficial open-source library and may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy of dividend amounts, split ratios, or price data. This feature does not constitute investment advice or tax guidance.
TAX ESTIMATES ARE MATHEMATICAL SIMULATIONS ONLY — NOT TAX ADVICE. Consult a licensed CPA or tax professional before making any tax-related decisions.
The tax estimation module includes the following features: wash sale identification (30-day window, cross-year aware), federal income tax simulation across all filing statuses (single, married filing jointly, married filing separately, head of household) using 2024 IRS brackets, long-term vs. short-term capital gains separation, net investment income tax (NIIT, 3.8%), child tax credit estimation, standard deduction, state income tax simulation for all 50 states with full progressive bracket data, a user-configurable local tax rate field, and quarterly estimated tax breakdown with carry-forward loss tracking. Users may also update tax brackets via the built-in bracket updater.
These calculations are mathematical simulations based on the data you enter and are NOT a substitute for professional tax advice. The module does not account for all variables that may affect your actual tax liability, including but not limited to: alternative minimum tax (AMT), qualified dividend treatment, return of capital adjustments, carryover losses from prior tax years, self-employment tax, or individual circumstances not captured in the Software. Do not use these estimates for tax filing without consulting a licensed CPA or tax professional.
TradeCraft allows users to manually enter any trade, including hypothetical or paper trades. The Software has no integration with any brokerage, simulator, or trading platform. Users are solely responsible for the accuracy and nature of data they enter. Paper trade entries do not reflect actual market execution and are not indicative of real trading performance.
TradeCraft supports importing trade history via CSV files. A universal importer auto-detects common broker export formats (including Charles Schwab, Webull, and thinkorswim Account Statements) and provides an always-visible column-mapping screen that can import any other CSV, including custom spreadsheets. Files containing trades from multiple accounts may be imported using a multi-account mode that requires every broker value in the file to be mapped to an account before import; accounts may be created during the import process. Broker export formats may change at any time without notice, and the Company makes no guarantee that imported data will be complete, accurate, or correctly parsed. You are solely responsible for verifying that imported trades match your actual broker statements. Errors in imported data may affect P&L calculations, tax estimates, and analytics. Always review imported trades before relying on any derived figures.
HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS HAVE MANY INHERENT LIMITATIONS, SOME OF WHICH ARE DESCRIBED BELOW. NO REPRESENTATION IS BEING MADE THAT ANY ACCOUNT WILL OR IS LIKELY TO ACHIEVE PROFITS OR LOSSES SIMILAR TO THOSE SHOWN. IN FACT, THERE ARE FREQUENTLY SHARP DIFFERENCES BETWEEN HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS AND THE ACTUAL RESULTS SUBSEQUENTLY ACHIEVED BY ANY PARTICULAR TRADING PROGRAM. ONE OF THE LIMITATIONS OF HYPOTHETICAL PERFORMANCE RESULTS IS THAT THEY ARE GENERALLY PREPARED WITH THE BENEFIT OF HINDSIGHT. IN ADDITION, HYPOTHETICAL TRADING DOES NOT INVOLVE FINANCIAL RISK, AND NO HYPOTHETICAL TRADING RECORD CAN COMPLETELY ACCOUNT FOR THE IMPACT OF FINANCIAL RISK OF ACTUAL TRADING.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company’s total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Software in the preceding 12 months. In no event shall the Company be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, arising out of your use of the Software.
